I have been a Social Worker and Therapist in the Niagara Region for over 20 years and I absolutely love what I do. I strive to create a safe and non-judgmental space in which to help clients feel comfortable so that we can work together to address whatever issues they may be struggling with. When working with clients I utilize a holistic approach that looks at identifying all the pieces of the puzzle. Everyone has different needs and struggles and I tailor my approach for each individual person. My therapeutic approach is trauma informed and draws mainly on the use of Mindfulness-based techniques, CBT, Narrative Therapy and Compassionate Inquiry.
I’m also passionate about working with parents who may be struggling with their child’s challenging behaviours, power struggles or anxiety.

Dr. Tiffany Hunt
I always wanted to be a psychologist (whispers: ya, I was “that kid” in highschool). I’m grateful to be in this line of work and I genuinely love what I do. My therapeutic style is very down to earth, supportive, and direct. Both my wardrobe and language (with adults) are known to be quite colourful. I’m open about my own mental health experiences (whispers: “Feelings Doctors” have feelings too) and appreciate finding a therapeutic approach that is legitimately helpful for the client.
I am an integrative practitioner. I support a holistic “mind/body/spirit” approach to psychological wellness and nervous system regulation. In addition to my mental health qualifications, I hold certifications in Sound Therapy and Conscious Connected breathwork. Although I believe that meaningful and helpful connections happen verbally, I also believe that powerful connections are made through experiences that transcend our senses.
Despite my youthful appearance (whispers: okay, fine, maybe middle-aged), I have had enough life experience to respect the complexities of relationships, parenting/co-parenting, work-life balance, unexpected life events, as well as life’s general ups and downs. I am fiercely protective of my clients, and I’ve been a trusted guide to many Veterans, police officers, firefighters, paramedics, and correctional officers.
Over the past 15 years, I have worked and trained in various settings including the Niagara Regional Police Service, community hospitals, mental health clinics, educational institutions, pain clinics, and private practices. I’m qualified to assess, diagnose, and provide treatment for adults, adolescents, children, and families.
I’m a published author with research publications in peer-reviewed, scholarly journals. I’m a former Adjunct Professor of Education with Brock University and Western University. I have taught university undergraduate-level courses and completed various guest lecturer appearances for psychology undergraduates and medical residents. In partnership with the charitable organization, Boots on The Ground, along with Brock University, I was a primary grant recipient, and clinical lead for “Comrades in Well-Being,” a peer support and Mindfulness-based program for Ontario Veterans. I am also a psychological wellness consultant and founder of “Tuned In With Tiffany”. I have provided several mental health and wellness workshops and trainings for first responders, probation and parole officers, Senior Leadership Teams, and Educational Assistants.
I strive to support my client’s emotional awareness, quality of life, peace of mind, coping, and overall wellness. Although I believe in being independent and resourceful, I don’t believe it’s necessary, nor is it helpful, to navigate everything on your own. We all need, and deserve some emotional support, guidance and/or clarity from time to time (whispers: let’s be real, most of the time).

I am an Indigenous social work practitioner, university educator, and frontline helping professional whose work is grounded in lived experience, professional practice, and relational accountability to Indigenous and non-Indigenous children, families, veterans, and communities. With over twenty years of experience across social service, child welfare, education, housing, and community-based systems, I approach practice and teaching through a strength-based, solution-focused, and trauma-informed wholistic framework that honours culture, connection, resilience, and healing.
My identity and positionality as an Indigenous practitioner deeply shape how I engage in therapeutic relationships, teaching, and critical dialogue. I recognize the importance of creating courageous, culturally safe spaces where difficult conversations can occur with compassion, humility, and authenticity. I understand that experiences of trauma, moral courage, and moral injury affect individuals in unique and far-reaching ways, influencing wellbeing, relationships, identity, and one’s sense of belonging.
My frontline practice continues to inform my clinical and academic interests in attachment, trauma, relational healing, mental health, systems navigation, and policy reform. I am committed to supporting equitable, culturally responsive, and person-centred systems of care that honour lived experience, relational wellness, and individual and collective strengths.
In my daytime role as a Veteran Housing & Liaison Support Worker, I support veterans experiencing homelessness or housing instability while navigating substance use and abuse, mental health concerns, medical and legal systems, and documentation and advocacy needs. This work reflects my commitment to meeting people where they are, supporting dignity, autonomy, and meaningful pathways toward stability and healing.
At times, Sarah, my German Shepherd companion, accompanies supportive visits and offers a calming, grounding presence during life transitions and emotionally difficult conversations. Her gentle nature often supports emotional regulation, connection, and comfort in therapeutic and community settings. Sarah is kind, intuitive, and deeply affectionate — reminding us daily of the healing power of relationship, presence, and unconditional care.

Life can feel overwhelming at times — whether you’re carrying the weight of workplace stress, struggling with difficult emotions, coping with the impact of trauma, or feeling stuck in patterns related to substance use. My goal as your social worker is to provide a space where you can slow down, feel supported, and talk openly without fear of judgment.
I believe therapy works best when you feel genuinely seen, heard, and understood. I take a warm, collaborative, and down-to-earth approach, recognizing that every person’s experiences and challenges are unique. Together, we work at a pace that feels comfortable for you while building practical tools to help you navigate life with greater confidence and balance.
I support individuals experiencing occupational stress and burnout, including challenges such as difficulty setting boundaries at work, constant worry about performance, emotional exhaustion, compassion fatigue, workplace conflict, and feeling unable to “shut off” after the workday ends. We work on identifying stress patterns, improving work-life balance, strengthening coping strategies, and rebuilding a sense of control and well-being.
I also work with individuals impacted by trauma, including childhood experiences, relationship trauma, workplace trauma, or sudden life events that continue to affect daily life. Trauma can show up as anxiety, hypervigilance, emotional numbness, panic, difficulty trusting others, sleep problems, or feeling stuck in survival mode. In therapy, we focus on creating safety, understanding how trauma affects the mind and body, and developing tools to process experiences in a way that feels manageable and empowering.
For those struggling with substance use, therapy may involve exploring the emotional triggers behind alcohol or drug use, managing cravings, addressing shame or self-criticism, rebuilding routines, and developing healthier coping mechanisms. Whether you are questioning your relationship with substances, working toward moderation, or pursuing recovery, therapy provides support without judgment or pressure.
I also help clients who experience difficulties with emotion regulation, such as feeling overwhelmed by anger, sadness, anxiety, or rapid mood changes. Together, we work on recognizing emotional triggers, increasing self-awareness, improving communication, and learning practical skills to respond to emotions rather than feeling controlled by them.
My approach is grounded in evidence-based and trauma-informed practices, while also recognizing the importance of authenticity, compassion, and human connection in the therapeutic process. Therapy is not about “fixing” you — it’s about helping you better understand yourself, strengthen resilience, and create meaningful change that feels realistic and sustainable in your everyday life.
Reaching out for support can be difficult, but you don’t have to navigate things alone. I’m here to help you move toward a life that feels more grounded, manageable, and connected.

Over the past thirty years, my work has focused on building spaces of support for individuals managing the impact of acute traumatic events and cumulative, personal or career-long trauma, navigating deep personal or professional crises, or working through critical life transitions.
I bring a distinct and practical perspective to my work with first responders. Having served as a frontline crisis worker, an executive leader, and a therapist within the healthcare, justice, and violence-intervention sectors, I understand the actual system pressures and limitations. I know how the day-to-day exposure to crisis forces one to override the body’s natural stress response and the ability to emotionally process, often leading to the development of painful coping strategies—such as substance use, emotional numbing, explosive anger, hypervigilance, or constantly seeing the world as a threat. Furthermore, because of my background in leadership, I have deep experience navigating complex workplace issues, including organizational harassment, performance pressures, and the systemic realities of operational mental health injuries.
My approach is straightforward and completely free of clinical jargon or expectations of perfection. I integrate evidence-based modalities with a grounded, simple reality: we are all human, and no one is built to carry the weight of human crisis in isolation without it taking a toll. I work alongside individuals to help them safely regulate their nervous systems, process their experiences, and develop the practical skills and boundaries needed to protect their well-being and build a life they truly value
